{M:H:O} Vande Mataram is un-Islamic !!!!!

Yes Vande Mataram un-Islamic , Scholars of an Islamic group in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday passed an edict banning Mataram, Indias national song, saying it is against their religious belief.

The Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind on Tuesday supported a decree against Vande Mataram, India's National Song, on the grounds that some of its lines were "against the religious principles of Islam".The Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind (JEU) passed a resolution at its national convention in Deoband, saying Muslims should not sing the national song as some verses of it are against the tenets of Islam.

The resolution asking Muslims not to sing the national song was passed at the national convention of the Jamiat, one of the largest groups of Muslim clerics in India, held at Darul Uloom Deoband, one the largest Muslim seminaries in South Asia, about 150 km from the national capital.

Home Minister P. Chidambaram and some other congress party members were present at the convention, which was also attended by some Hindu priests including Baba Ramdev..

"Some of its lines are of course against the religious principles of Islam. We cannot bow before anybody other than the Allah. It is un-Islamic," Moulana Muizuddin of the Jamiat said."Islam teaches us to worship only one god, Allah. We are Indians and there are other ways to express our feelings for the nation rather than bowing before it. Loving your country doesn't only mean worshiping it," Says Muizuddin.

But the question is :-

When Muslim, Islamic, Arabic, Persian poetry was full of allusions to the Mehkhana, Sharaab, mehkhada, words which are not in congruence with the tenets of practicing Islam. Why is it only Vande Mataram that has been singled out by the Ulemas?

Also now a days many people are the products of Christian schools, also there is Lords prayer in the school assembly and no maulvi has turned around and said that its an un-Islamic thing. Why does this come with Vande Mataram

If Baba Ramdev can go to the Deoband and say bismillah-rahman-e-rahim, I dont see why any Muslim cannot sing Vande Mataram.

The real question here is - Was such a resolution was required untimely ? Is it really gonna help anyone ?
