Two coaches of a local train derail; rail traffic disrupted
MUMBAI: Two coaches of a local train derailed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus here today, disrupting and delaying rail services on the Central Line.
The incident took place around 0700 hours when two coaches of a local coming from Kasara derailed on platform number six at the CST railway station, a railway official said.
Many trains are running 20-25 minutes late on the slow line while services on the fast track in the Central line have come to a halt following the mishap, causing inconvenience to commuters, he said.
Work to clear the line is in progress and the fast tracks would soon be opened for commuters, the official said.
This is the second incident of derailment in the last three days .
A local coming from suburban Kalyan derailed at CST on Wednesday night paralysing traffic.
