Celebrities Caganers The Caganer is a likeable, well loved and respected figure in the typical Catalan Nativity crib. It is a type of homage to personalities and their activities. After having an artistic representation of each personality worked on, plaster casts are made, then they are dried, oven baked and hand painted. They have turned into a cult object of curiosity amongst many collectors. The family-run Caganer business produces a vast collection of around 20,000 hand-painted figurines each year at their factory near Barcelon, Spain.
