{M-H-O} Look like a celeb this summer!

The mercury is rising and we've already plunged into what seems like a really hot and humid summer.

We take style tips from 10 celebs for an uber fashionable and cool summer.

Cowl neck

A closed neckline is stifling on a hot summer day. So, opt for cowl necks to be comfortable and stylish summer.

A cowl neck can be set-off in a pleated, hourglass silhouette, pretty dress like Dia Mirza's or a fluid drape dress like Shyamal and Bhumika's model.

Cinched waist

This one's perfect for almost all body shapes. The best part is a loose dress or tunic lets you breathe.

You can cinch the waist with either a belt like Swapnil Shinde's model or get a dress with drawstrings like the stylish Sophie Choudhary.

Jackets and separates

Got a tight schedule with the day at work and a party later? A smart jacket, preferably in linen or cotton, is your answer. You can wear the jacket over your party top at work and just take it off later when you hit the club.

Jackets also work to make you feel more stylish during those 'fat' days. Deepika Padukone's lapel coat exemplifies the corporate chic look and the Harangad Singh-designed jacket on the model can be casual as well as formal.

Single shoulders

If you don't have a single-shoulder blouse/tunic/dress as yet, you are missing out on fashion and how! Single shoulders have firmly found their foothold in fashion for over a year and they refuse to budge.

Sonam Kapoor wears a single shoulder mini dress in a cool blue (note: trend on summer style). Make a splash this summer with Shrivan Narresh's oh-so-desirable swimwear range.

Kimono sleeves

Let your arms breathe in easy, breezy kimono sleeves. The kimono sleeve is so versatile and feminine that you can wear it while attending corporate meetings (wear it in a subtle shade) or lounging by the beach.

That's Bipasha looking summery and charming in her dress and Pria Kataria's model striking a sexy pose.

Romantic rosettes

Rosettes have a personality of their own and can transform any garment. You can either stitch them into your clothes as 3-d appliqué embroidery or get a detachable brooch that can be pinned into - your dress, belt, bag, and can be worn as a hairclip or corsage.

Take a cue from Katrina's Herve Leger dress and designer Asmita Marwah's jumpsuit worn by model Diandra Soares.

Go sheer

There is something so seductive about sheer. You can pair them with different fabrics for varied colour effects, pleat or drape them and transform silhouettes, or just wear them as a separate jacket or shrug.

Case in point: Christopher Kane's flair with sheer has earned him many accolades. Seen here is Freida Pinto looking pretty in a dress from Kane's spring summer 2010 collection and a model wearing the same.

Be boho

Allow the adventure streak spill forth by mixing prints - animal stripes with floral, or floral with geometry, or geometry with animal prints. Raise a toast to the bohemian spirit with a medley of prints.

Aarti Chabria looks fabulous in that cleverly tailored dress with zig-zag lines and floral motifs. You can also check out Aftershock's spring summer collection for some free-spirited bohemian inspiration.

Purple reign

Purple is the new pink. It embodies everything that is the feminine (but not too overt), mysterious and spiritual (you like that, don't you), and royal (yeah, every girl is a princess). Summer's must-have colour is shades of violet and purple.

Take inspiration from Anoushka Shankar's pretty purple dress or Krishna Mehta's drape purple top.

Wrap it!

The eternal, eternal favourite! While Priyanka Chopra flaunted a fitted wrap dress Nikasha Tawadey's model walked down the runway on a more relaxed, fluid wrap that can be worn as a kurta or a beach dress. The wrap was 'made' for the female body in all its forms!

So, with these style tips let the summer descend upon us!
